Aaron Maeweather died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Miller County Nursing Home in Colquitt.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, 3065 Collins Street, Meigs, Georgia. Reverend Estelle Arrington will officiate.
Aaron Maeweather, Jr., was born March 2, 1929 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Aaron Maeweather, Sr., and Mamie Maeweather.
At an early age he united with the Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed with Eubanks Pulpwood Company for many years until his health failed.
He was united in marriage to the former Emma Pearl Hill. To this union six children were born.
Preceding him in death include a daughter, Annie Grace Maeweather; three sisters, Preddie M. Thomas Butler, Ora Lee Reese, and Doris Carter.
Survivors include a wife, Emma Pearl Maeweather of Pelham, Georgia; six sons, Corey L. Maeweather, Willie E. Maeweather, James E. Maeweather of Pelham, Georgia, Eron Maeweather of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Derrick Maeweather of Arlington, Georgia, Jimmy Brown of Auburndale, Florida; three daughters, Lesia (Curtis) Nixon of Ochlocknee, Georgia, Teresa L. Maeweather, Sandra Franklin of Pelham, Georgia; two sisters, Lula Mae Fields and Irene Brown of Meigs, Georgia; a devoted friend, Minnie L. Perkins of Arlington, Georgia; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
