Obituary

Annie F. Carter-Gooding was born June 16, 1964 to the late Neal Carter, Sr. and Mattie Pearl Carter on Sinkola Plantation in Thomas County. She was the 9th of 10 children. As a child, she was lovingly called and known as Faye. At an early age, she was known for teaching and having someone's children. After graduating, Faye spent the early part of her life being a wife and mother. But she always seemed to be pulled towards taking care of someone. During her teens and 20s, she was trained and certified in nursing, Interior decorating, accounting and bookkeeping. As she continued, she was pulled back into the field of education. Annie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and Criminal Justice from Thomas University. She later received her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University. Annie taught for 20 years in Georgia and Florida before she answered another calling at Thomasville Department of Family and Children Services. She worked as a Notary, IRS Certified Tax Preparer, Placement and a Foster Care Specialist, where she worked diligently until the time of her death.

She is survived by her two children, Landraha Wade and Jolisa Gooding. Six God-Children, Brittany Thomas, Aslyn John, Kativia Daniels, Tameka Evans, Shameka Evans and Rico Carter One grandchild, J"Riya Wade. Sixteen God-Grandchildren, Brionna Mobley, Arionna Mcray, Chloe Hopkins, Carter Hopkins, Jaila Curtis, Jermaina Curtis, Khadijah Curtis, Shian Curtis, Octavia Tillman, Christopher Pittman, Zhbraylen Johnson, Heaven Johnson, Izaiah Dubose, Malani Johnson, Marcus Walden, Marquez Daniels and Marquel Daniels and three God-great grands.

Six Siblings: Bettye (Jerome) Jackson, Sr., Robert (Linda) Carter, Earnestine (Earnest) West, Katie Carter, Bernard Carter, Sr. and Deborah Carter. Sister-in-law, Martha Sue Carter. Aunts & Uncles: Katherlean Branch, Learnest (Diroslyn) Anderson, Lottye (James) Atkins, Freddie Anderson and Charles (Patricia) Anderson.

God-Siblings Millie Warren, Betty Washington, Betty Jackson, Michael Greene, Terrance Mack and Barbara Monroe.

She was loved by a host of daughter-nieces, nephew-sons and friends. She was also a key factor in the raising of several nieces and nephews whom also called her mom.  Shelonda Berry, Shedrick Carter, Michael Williams, Lakesha Henderson, Samantha Carter, Johnta Carter, Barnard Carter, Jr., Kaysha Lenton and Katelyn Jenkins.
