ARCIEOLA GILBERT WHITFIELD, daughter of the late Reverend Elmore Gilbert and Arcieola Prince Gilbert, was born March 15, 1925 in Camilla, Georgia.

At an early age she confessed Christ and joined Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church and later the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, both in Camilla, Georgia.  As a devoted church member, she was loyal, faithful, and respected by many.

Preceding Mrs. Whitfield in death were her parents; a daughter, Earnestine Williams; a great grandson, Shedrick King, Jr.; five sisters:  Odessa Brown, Evelyn Covington, Mildred Ward, Novella Nixon, Ollie Mae Carr; two brothers:  Elmore Gilbert Jr. and Oliver Gene Gilbert.

Mrs. Whitfield departed this life on Friday; August 16, 2019 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia surrounded by her loving family.

Left to cherish her memory are eight children:  Bettye Crawford of Pensacola, Florida, Annie Ruth Gilbert Brinner (Jessie) of Pelham, Georgia, Artie C Whitfield, Jacqueline Ross (Jackie), Janice Robinson all of Camilla, Georgia, Veronice Gilbert of Warner Robins, Georgia, Freddie Thomas (Shirletta) of Gainsville, Virginia, and Charles E. Gilbert (Teresa) of Pelham, Georgia, twenty-three grandchildren; fifty-six great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
