Obituary

The funeral service of Armel DuBois Poitier, will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 418 Love Street, NW, Pelham. Reverend Charles Dorsey will officiate. Interment will follow in Jo Ro's Memorial Garden.

Armel DuBois Poitier, son of Cesta Gooden Poitier and the late William O. Poitier, was born October 18, 1954 in Mitchell County, Camilla, Georgia.

At an early age, Armel became a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, Georgia.

A lover of all flowers, Armel graduated from Pelham High School, Pelham, Georgia in 1972. He attended Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia. Armel lived in Washington, D.C. and worked at Riggs National Bank as a payable clerk.

He departed this life early Tuesday morning, October 20, 2009, at 633 Love Street in Pelham, Georgia.

He leaves his mother, Cesta Gooden Poitier of Pelham, Georgia; sister, Pamela Yolanda Poitier (Michael) Dickerson of Hyattsville, Maryland; nephew, Brian A.
