Mrs. Arthrie Mae (Jones) Toombs, the daughter of the late Mr. John Jones and Mrs. Janie Jones was born July 22, 1918, in Macon, Georgia (Bibb) County.

She confessed her life to Jesus Christ and became a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years.

She was united in Holy Matrimony on December 25, 1937.  To this union two sons were born.

In later years, Mr. Toombs and Mrs. Toombs moved to Lakewood, New Jersey, where they resided for many years.  Mr. Toombs was called to rest May 8, 1985.

Mrs. Toombs was relocated to Fountain View Care Center in 2014 until she was called to rest June 16, 2020.

Preceding her in death was a son, Deacon George Toombs, on September 6, 2016.

She leaves to cherish one son, Reuben (Jean) Toombs of Rome, New York; a devoted daughter-in-law, Marilyn Ruth Toombs of Lakewood, New Jersey; a brother, John Jones of Riverdale, Georgia; a sister, Rosa Lee Knight of Camilla, Georgia; four grandchildren, Rommel Toombs, Sr., Stirling Toombs, Bryon Toombs, Melinda Toombs.

She will be greatly missed by a host of great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
