Life Legacy

Arthur Williams, one of eleven children, was born March 11, 1943 in Camilla (Mitchell County) Georgia to Rosa Lee Williams and Jim F. Williams.

Very young in age, Arthur's family moved to Miami, Florida where he began school at Liberty City Elementary School and thus was educated in the Dade County School System.  Although he did not graduate from high school, he eventually acquired his diploma through the GED program.

Arthur was a very gifted man with many skills.  He crafted many different works of art, buildings, making and remodeling articles of furniture.  His working skills included auto mechanic repair, work bar tending, product handling, and lastly, custodial worker in a Jewish graveyard.

In the late sixties, Arthur met, courted, and married Dorothy Louis Ware.  To this union one baby was born.

Although Arthur grew up in church, he was not a member of one but believed and served God.  Becoming ill in January, 2012, his daughter, Ardria, and his sister, Mattie, helped and cared for him during his time of sickness.  On Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital,  he was called home to be with his heavenly father.

In the past two years, Arthur's health began to fail him.  It slowed him down in helping people.  He would take someone to work, to the doctor or to the store or wherever needed until God decided to call another one of his children's number.

He was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy Louis Ware Williams; mother, Rosa Lee Williams; father, Jim F. Williams; five brothers and one sister.

Arthur leaves to mourn:  a loving daughter, Adria Williams-Quinn (Gerrade); two sisters, Lula M. Young (Grant) of Wilmington, Delaware, Mattie R. Lallemand of Camilla, Georgia; one brother, John L. Williams of Miami, Florida.

He leaves behind three grandchildren, Darian R. Quinn, Danet T. Quinn and Gerrade K. Quiinn, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The LORD Is My Shepherd

A Psalm of David.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23
