Davis, Sr.
March 14, 1948 – January 31, 2020
Artie C. Davis was born to the late Deacon Johnny King, Sr. and the late Essie Mae Davis Burns on March 14, 1948.
He was educated in the school system of Camilla Consolidated and graduated with the class of 1966.
Artie was united in holy matrimony to Betty J. (Barnes) Davis on August 9, 1970. To this union two children were born.
Artie departed this life on January 31, 2020 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia. He was preceded in death by two brothers: James E. Davis and Kenneth L. Minatee, Sr.
His legacy will continue with his wife, Betty J. Davis and his children, James Davis, Kimberly Davis, Charles Davis, Shea (Franco) Mango, and Wendy Bryant; three brothers, Calvin King and Reverend Jermaine (Eritrea) King of Camilla, Georgia, as well as Johnny (Gloria) King of Albany, Georgia; three sisters, Rose (Sherman) Harrell of Miami, Florida, Claretha (D.K.) Grissom of Camilla, Georgia, and Liz (Ramon) Johnson of Warner Robins, Georgia; one Aunt, Mary Gladys Toombs; nine grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Minatee, Leola Terry and Rosa (Johnny) Kent; five brothers-in-law, Wille (Doris) Barnes, James (Mattie) Barnes, David (Shirley) Barnes, Jessie (Kathy) Barnes and Nathaniel (Jeanestal) Barnes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.
