Benjamin Eugene Jenkins was born July 29, 1942 in Camilla, Georgia, to the late William Jenkins, Jr. and Bonnie Jenkins.

He was raised in Camilla, Georgia and was a graduate of the class of 1960 at Camilla Consolidated School.  In later years he matriculated to Albany State College (University).  He later moved to Lancaster, California.  While in California he was employed as a driver with the Long Beach Transit System.  Ben decided to move back to Camilla.  While in Camilla, he was a school bus driver for the Mitchell County School System.

"Ben", as he was affectionately called, was a member of Brown Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.  He later moved his membership to St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church.  He served as a city councilman in the city of Camilla from 2008-2011.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William (Bill) Jenkins, Jr.

Ben departed this life on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham, Georgia.

Those left to cherish his memories include a host of relatives and friends.
