Bertha Mae Wade, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 20, 1935, in Mitchell County, Georgia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Vassar Williams and Minnie Butler Williams. Bertha's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit, deep faith, and a strong commitment to family and community.

Throughout her career, Bertha was employed in textiles with notable establishments including Newton Manufacturing, Sale City Manufacturing, and Goody's Manufacturing. Her industrious nature was a reflection of her dedication to providing for her loved ones and her determination to succeed.

Bertha's vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. Known for her impeccable sense of style, she was a sharp dresser who exuded confidence. Bertha was not one to hold back her thoughts and always spoke her mind, a trait admired by many who knew her. Welcoming and kind, she had a remarkable ability to make others feel at ease. Her great sense of humor brought joy to those around her, and her laughter will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends.

Bertha's faith was an integral part of her identity. She confessed to Christ and united with the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, finding strength and solace in her spiritual community. In her earlier years, she was united in holy matrimony to Timothy L. Wade, Sr., on December 1, 1957, who preceded her in death.  She was a member of a sister-hood club along with Mattie Jess, Abbie Thomas, Sally Quimbley.

Family was the cornerstone of Bertha's life. She truly cherished spending time with her loved ones, particularly during the holidays, when bonds were strengthened and memories were made. She is survived by her children: Timothy (Barbara) Wade, Jr., Sharon (Johnny) Williams, Michael (Brenda) Wade of Camilla, Georgia, and Stacy (Erika) Wade of Crawfordville, Florida; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister, Mary Williams of Camilla, Georgia, as well as her son-in-law, Horace Jackson of Camilla, Georgia.

She will be fondly remembered alongside her deceased family members, including her children Mary Jane Jackson, Charlie C. Thomas, J. B. Thomas, Leonard Lamar Wade, Earnest Wade, and Aaron Wade.

Bertha Mae Wade leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family, making a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated for generations to come.
