Obituary

Betty Jean Brown transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 after a valiant battle with terminal illness.  Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.  She was born Betty Jean Johnson on July 10, 1939 to the late Russell and Katie Johnson. She was the beloved sister of Katie Wynn and the late Clarence Johnson and J. W. Toombs, all of Camilla, Georgia.

At an early age she gave her life to CHRIST and united with Beulah Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member for more than 65 years.  She served as President of the Senior Choir, Treasurer of the Mission Workers Ministry, faithfully attended Sunday Worship, Sunday School, and Bible Study as long as her health allowed.

She was an honor graduate of Camilla Consolidated School Class of 1957.  She also studied Cosmetology at Monroe Area Vocational Technical School (currently known as Albany Technical College) and provided services to clients part-time in her home for many years.   She was employed full time by Royal Poultry, Cagles, and Equity Group for a total of 42 years.  After retirement, she was an Avon Representative for more than 10 years.

On November 2, 1958, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert L. Brown, Sr. They were married for 35 years.
