The funeral service of Bobby Charles Jackson, Chief Warrant Officer V, will be conducted Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at 3:30 p.m., at the Robert Jester Mortuary. Reverend Alfreda Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Bobby Charles Jackson was born September 16, 1957 on the seventh anniversary of his parents, Eddie Jackson and Christine Jackson. He confessed CHRIST early in life and served in the youth department with his sisters and brothers at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Pelham, Georgia. Bobby was a proud graduate of Pelham High School Class of 1976.
The thought of joining the military surfaced from a trip in a big truck with his father to Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. He was mesmerized with the tanks, army trucks and uniforms. His military journey began in 1977 when he joined the United States Navy. Bobby's journey was not easy for a young black man coming from a small town in South Georgia. His life was always a journey of opportunities and accomplishments. He persevered and excelled to one of the highest honors in the military, Chief Warrant Officer 5, in June of 2007. With this attainment he accomplished a task that made his achievements complete and was able to share those memories with his wife, daughter, sisters, and brother-in-law, as they were in
attendance on this momentous occasion. Bobby graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in Technical Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Point Mugu, California. He lived life to the fullest, while serving his country in three wars:
Desert Storm, The Persian Gulf, and the War in Iraq. He traveled the seas, highways and byways for over thirty years, while serving
his country as a proud Sailor, Petty Officer, and as a Chief Warrant Officer 5. Most of all, he was excited about his retirement papers being signed by President Elect Barack Obama.
On Saturday afternoon, November 8, 2008, Bobby Jackson closed the Book of Rest in Peace and opened the Book of Life Everlasting
at Bear Valley Community Hospital in San Bernardino, California.
