IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Boyise Tom
Williams, Sr.
April 19, 1939 – July 23, 2022
Boyise Tom Williams, Sr. affectionately known as "Big Jack" was born in Camilla, Georgia, to share birthdays with his mother (Granny) on April 19, 1939. The "spitting image" of his father in looks, and the love of the game of baseball, (Our Daddy) would watch one game on TV and listen to another game on the radio at the same time. These proud parents are the late Willie Tom and Bertha Lee Williams. He was educated in the Mitchell County School System.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. Peter AME Church in Camilla, Georgia. He was inducted into the United States Army November 1956 Fort Ord, California and Honorably Discharged back home in 1958. He then matriculated to Trenton, New Jersey in 1966. He and his family moved back home to Camilla, Georgia in 1983 where he joined the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Baconton, Georgia. under the Pastoral Leadership of Willie Pearl Chandler. After his stroke, with the blessing of his leader, he became a member of Majestic Kingdom Embassy in Camilla, Georgia, under the leadership of his children Drs. Timothy & Pamela Miller.
He was united in marriage to Annie Doris Silas on June 27, 1959.
Boyise was an entrepreneur, a man of many hats and trades (pulpwooder, truck driver, construction worker, and club owner). He loved to cook, work in his "Ragu" garden, watch westerns, play bid whist, spades, five card stud, entertain family and friends through food, and an explosion of laughter; but his game of life was "Baseball!" He was a team player with the Ga.-Fla. Negro Baseball League in the 1960's. He played and managed the game of baseball over 45 years. He wasn't selfish to the game. He played ball with everybody Camilla, Pelham, Itchaway, and Baconton. He took his love of the game to New Jersey playing and managing the Infamous Trenton Dodgers. Yet he played in Newark, New Jersey as well. He was loved by many always willing and helpful to whomever he met. His presence will truly be missed.
Boyise departed this life in his home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Tom, Jr. and James Earl Williams; four sisters, Betty Saxon, Odessa, Emma, and Charlotte Williams; a granddaughter, Shevekia Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his beautiful wife of 63 years, Annie Doris of Camilla, Georgia; three children, Jack Wilson of Albany, Georgia; Boyise Williams, Jr. (Theresa), Pamela Miller (Timothy) of Camilla, Georgia; three grandchildren, Shaneeka Rogers (Michael Warner) of Willingboro, New Jersey, Travis Miller and Timothy Miller, Jr. of Camilla, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Trameshyon Edwards of Camilla, Georgia, Dwayne Snelling, III and Milani Warner of Willingboro, New Jersey; three sisters, Mamie Brown and Angela Banks of Camilla, Georgia, Hurlaine Berryhill (Timothy) of New Orleans, Louisiana; two brothers, Wallace Williams of Camilla, Georgia, Terry Williams (Dorothy) of Levittown, Pennsylvania; five sisters-in-law, Freddie Williams, Shirley (Robert) Johnson, Lizzie (Cleveland) Williams all of Camilla, Georgia, Lucile Adams of Metter, Georgia, Kaye (Kenneth) Logan of Hope Mills, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, and adoptive children from the community.
