Brenda Lorraine Smiley, daughter of the late Stephen W. Smiley and Arilla Smiley, was born October 30, 1948 in Camilla, Georgia.
"Brenda", as she was affectionately known, received her elementary and high school education from Camilla Consolidated School in Camilla. She also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia.
She accepted CHRIST at an early age at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, serving faithfully and actively until relocating for career purposes. For more than thirty years Brenda was a devoted educator in the Colquitt, Bacon and Greene County School Systems.
On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, Brenda was called on Home to be with THE LORD.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Jacqueline Briscoe of Woodville, Georgia; three nieces: Monica Gilbert of Midway, Georgia, Gena Grier of Woodville, Georgia, and Melanie (DeRon) Harper of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one nephew, Stephen (Sarah) Briscoe of Clarksville, Tennessee; six great nieces; one great nephew; four aunts: Melissa Redden, Annie Lou Rice, both of Fort Myers, Florida, Irene (William) Spence of Pelham, Georgia, and Christen (Matthew) Greene of Tacoma, Maryland; two uncles, Emerson (Margret) Pinkney of Fort Myers, Florida and Matthew (Louise) Pickney of Camilla, Georgia; and a host of cousins and friends.

Reverend Willie Chester, Jr., Pastor of Saint Paul Baptist Church, Woodville, Georgia, will officiate.
Flower Attendants and Pallbearers will be Camilla Consolidated School Class of 1966.
