The Key of Life: Carol Denise Holt Holloway was born May 22, 1960 to the parentage of the Late Deacon Joseph Holt and the late Gladys Holt of Americus, GA. She obtained her high school education from Americus High School and graduated in the class of 1978. Carol completed technical college at Meadows Community College.
Carol joined the Spring Creek Baptist Church of Cobb, GA at an early age and later moved her membership to the Zion Hill Baptist upon her marriage. She later became a member of the Zion Hope Baptist Church where she served until her demise.
The Chorus of Life: Carol progressed within the community as a noted musician and singer. She could be found playing for several churches in the local area and some abroad. Her love for music was expressed through her powerful and soulful alto voice. She put many choirs together and sung with several groups in the area. Carol recorded a single during her career in music.
Carol was employed with Textron formerly known as Davidson and Cooper Lighting where she worked many years. Upon her leaving those fields of employment, she joined her husband as they ventured into entrepreneurship and opened H&L Dry Cleaners in Leslie, Georgia.
Carol is noted for her famous phrase of "BOOM BOOM" as she would greet you with her contagious smile and do her best to obtain a laugh from you. Carol was also known for her dressing apparel. She loved her designer dresses, shoes, and dangling jewelry.
The Melody of Life: Carol was proceeded in death by her late husband Deacon Horace Holloway, Jr. She was also proceeded in death by her oldest sister Betty Joe Holt.
Carol leaves the sheet of music to her life with three children: Saketha Banks of Cordele, GA., Anitra (Kenneth) Thomas of Americus, GA., and Horace (Camellia) Holloway, III of Leesburg, GA. Carol also leaves melodic memories to her sister Patricia Highe of Colorado! She also leaves memories with her ten grandchildren: Makaylah Banks, Ashley Banks, Kamelia Thomas, Kenneth Thomas II, Knatural Thomas, Kenton Thomas, Zayden Holt-Simmons, Horace Holloway, IV, Chloe` Holloway, Christen Holloway, and one great- grandchild, Jabori Thomas!
She is also survived by her aunt, Miland Hawkins and her in-laws Andrew Holloway, Arthur (Barbara) Holloway, Ray (Elizabeth) Holloway, James (Lisa) Holloway, Diana (Henry) Roberts, and Michael (Mary Ann) Holloway. She is also survived by her nieces Rhonda Holder, Deborah Highe, Takesha Holder, and Tarika Staten.
Carol was blessed to live next to three amazing neighbors who looked out for her as family: BeShe` Terry, Walter Harris, and Sharonda Caldwell.
The Final Sheet of Music : Carol wrote her final piece of music as she transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on January 23, 2023. We will always remember the music she left behind and her life, her smile, and her memories will always be on repeat in our hearts.
