Mrs. Carrie Mae Broadwater, 99, earned her heavenly wings Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Coliseum Hospital in Macon, Georgia. On October 11, 1921 in Sale City, Georgia, she was born to the late Frank White and Emma White. Mrs. Carrie Mae was one of three children; her brother Raleigh, sister Geraldine preceded her in death. She was lovingly married to the late Reverend Edward Broadwater, Sr.
Mrs. Carrie Mae lived a long and rich life. She was visited by additional sorrow with the loss of her daughter Blanche Mitchell.
As a young girl, she was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Sales City, Georgia. She later moved her membership to Beulah Baptist Church Camilla, Georgia, and lastly Summerhill Baptist Church in Pelham Georgia, where she lived for many years. Mrs. Carrie was well-known for her outgoing personality, sense of humor, love of life, and her love and commitment to family, and friends. She never met a stranger as she was a familiar smiling face in Camilla and Pelham. Her infectious curiosity was often witnessed by her good friend Thelma Riggins.
She is survived by three children, Donald C. White of Pelham, Georgia; Jacquelyn Brown of Albany, Georgia; and Marvin Broadwater, Sr. (Shurmain) of Columbus, Georgia; stepchildren Annie Laura Jones of Kankakee, Illinois; Martha Craft (Guy) of Albany, Georgia; and Bessie Hudson (Sherman) of Sanford, Florida; ten grandchildren, Deborah Guyton-Isley, Lorenzo Guyton, Shirley Guyton, Carl Dewayne Hall, Temika Hall, Ynekia Toney, Altereck Brown, Renita Broadwater-Henderson, Marvin Broadwater, Jr., Maya Broadwater; and forever remembered by a host of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
