Obituary

The funeral service of Carrie Mae Wimberly will be conducted Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 2:30 p.m., at United Full Gospel Church, 4058 New Hope Road, Pelham, Georgia. Reverend Alfred Smith, III, will officiate. Interment will follow in New Hope II Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Chester, Johnny Edwards, Jr., Anthony English, Johnny Marsh, Elwood Thomas, Jeffery Williams.

Mrs. Carrie Mae Wimberly was born August 30, 1944 in Mitchell County, Georgia to the late Willie B. Sims and Maggie Sims.

At a very early age she joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully for many years as an usher. She later moved her membership to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church II were she served faithfully as an usher and missionary for many years. She later became mother of the church.

She departed this life on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Roscoe Wimberly, Jr. of Pelham, Georgia, Jerry Lee Wimberly of Newton, Georgia; four daughters, Maggie (Jerome) Bonner of Albany, Georgia, Debrah (Terry) Burden, Dianne Wimberly, Rossie Wimberly of Pelham, Georgia; one sister, Thelma Patterson of Sandford, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Albert Wimberly of Camilla, Georgia, David Wimberly of Pelham, Georgia; one aunt, Virginia Sweet of Bradenton, Florida; a wonderful caregiver, Pamela Jenkins; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
