Catherine Lumpkin Harrison, a devoted Christian woman and cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at her daughter's residence in Bainbridge, Georgia. Born on February 14, 1932, in Camilla, Georgia, Catherine lived a life marked by faith, love, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear.

From an early age, Catherine embraced her Christian faith, confessing Christ and becoming an active member of the Habakkuk Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life, she continued her spiritual journey by joining the Open Door Church of Praise, where she found fellowship and inspiration. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, shaping her pure heart of gold and her loving, friendly demeanor.

Catherine dedicated her career to Goody's Manufacturing in Pelham, Georgia, from where she retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and loyalty. Beyond her professional life, she found immense joy in traveling, spending quality time with family, and sharing her beloved sense of humor. Known for her love of telling jokes and having fun, Catherine’s vibrant spirit was a source of happiness to all who knew her. Her devotion to attending church and praising the Lord was a reflection of her deep-seated belief and joyous approach to life.

She is survived by her loving husband, J. R. Harrison, and their three children: J. R. (Vianna) Harrison, Jr., Wanda Harrison, and Gwin Harrison; stepdaughter, Jessie Emma Wright. Catherine also leaves behind her brothers, Ernest Spence, Joe (Ida) Lumpkin, along with her sisters Essie M. Lumpkin and Susie M. Lumpkin; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and her care and devotion to them were evident to all.

Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Nelson Scurry, her father, Robert Lumpkin, Sr., and her brothers G. B. Nelson, Leroy Lumpkin, Steve Lumpkin and Robert Lumpkin, Jr.; sister, Ruby Lumpkin; stepdaughter, Lillie Ruth West. Their memories remain a cherished part of her story and her enduring legacy.

Catherine Harrison’s life was a testament to kindness, faith, and the power of love. She truly loved her husband and cared deeply for her family, embodying the values she held closest to her heart. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege to know her, and she will be fondly remembered for her loving spirit, her infectious laughter, and her steadfast faith in God.
