Charles Bernard Marcus, son of Glenda Jackson Marcus and the late Charlie James Marcus, was born March 27, 1976 in Thomasville, Georgia.
At an early age, he confessed CHRIST and united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Camilla, Georgia.
Charles attended Mitchell County High School graduating with the class of 1995.
In 2004, Charles was united in marriage to the former Stephanie Stafford. To this union two children were born.
Charles' professional work life was diverse and rewarding. For numerous years, he was employed with Autry State Prison.
"Smoothe" as he was affectionately called, had a great love for his family and friends. He was a very outgoing person who was always willing to lend a helping hand, always looking out for others, and could always make you laugh or smile. He made many lifelong friends and touched the lives of people around him in a very special way. Charles was one of those rare people with the unique ability to draw people toward him and become a part of their lives. He always had a positive attitude, was quick to smile and laugh, and was an expert at making others feel good. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, a nurturing uncle, a caring cousin, and a loyal friend. You couldn't know him without being inspired by his love and devotion. Charles enjoyed being active and had many interests during his life. He will be deeply missed by all who dearly loved him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick Marcus; several aunts and uncles, Eddie Jackson, Mary McNair, Ruthella Smith, Jackson Smith, Woodrow McCray, Willie C. Jackson, Shelia McNair, Lee Hardy Mitchell, Otis Jackson, Willie Albert Smith, Sr.
