Obituary

Charlie W. Williams, also known as "Willie B. Williams (Will)", was born in Camilla, Georgia on June 18, 1932 to the proud parents of Betsy Lee Riles (Robert) and Jake Barnes (Annie Liza).  Willie was united in holy matrimony to Pearlie M. Walden on January 7, 1961.  To this union three children were born, Charlie W. Williams (deceased), Willie James Williams (deceased) and John L. Williams.

He confessed Christ at Oak Grove A.M.E. Church.  Will worked for Georgia Peanut Mill and also the City of Camilla until 1967.  He and his family moved to Miami, Florida.  In 1968, he worked for the Metro Dade and in 1969 he began to work for the City of Camilla where he retired in 1990.

Will was a father to many other children that were not his own.  One would not have known it because he could never say no.  He loved fishing and singing Gospel music.  He also loved traveling to Georgia to visit with his family.

In 1991, he began to attend Chosen Generation Ministries under Pastor Dr. John Lee Patterson and later Pastor Mary Blount.

Will is survived by his loving wife, Pearlie M. Williams of Miami, Florida; one son, John L. Williams; other children, Gloria Jean Wise of Jacksonville, Florida, Cynthia Waiters Kettley and Climon Montina; sisters and brothers, Betty Jackson, Jerry Jackson of Homestead, Florida, Hattie Clark of Miami, Florida, Lucille Burns, Pansy (Henry Lee) Johnson, Gertrude Rhodes, Annie Mae (Willie) King of Camilla, Georgia, Ruby Williams of Homestead, Florida, James (Helen) Barnes of Pelham, Georgia, Mary Lewis and Martha Riles of Gainesville, Florida; sisters-in-law, Addie (James) Finney of Baconton, Georgia, Louise (James) Johnson of Norman Park, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a host of other loving family and friends.

His Journey's Just Begun

Don't think of him as gone away
His journey's just begun,
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but sadness
Can really pass away.

And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched...
For nothing loved is ever lost
And he was loved so much.
