Obituary

CHRISTINE MASTEN COLLIER was born November 18, 1929.  She was the seventh child born to Mr. James Masten and Mrs. Jerry Lee Masten.  Both parent, as well as her six siblings, preceded her in death.  On November 8, 2013, GOD called HIS child to rest.

Christine graduated from Rockdale High School, Camilla, Georgia in the class of 1948 and attend Albany State College now Albany State University.  Her nursing training at Albany State, and love for people, made her a successful Midwife at the Georgia Borders Williams Nursing Home.  She was responsible for delivering hundreds of babies in Mitchell County and surrounding areas.  She also worked for numerous years at the Royal Poultry Plant.

Sister Collier joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and served in various capacities until her health began to fail.  It was during her early years that GOD was training her to be a humble servant.  Her motto was "Keep GOD first, and all other things will fall into place."  These are the words she lived by and encouraged her family and those she loved to live by as well.  She would be remembered for singing in the Senior Choir and her dedicated services provided to both the Kitchen and Deaconess Ministries.

On June 5, 1955, she married Clemmie Lee Collier of Opelika, Alabama, who preceded her in death.  To this union were born five children:  Clemmie Levert, Raymond, Geralyn, Zelda, and Earl.

A humble servant with a forgiving heart, she always found the time to cheer and comfort those in the community who needed to feel some love.  She was a diverse woman who was created with God's special ingredients that enabled her to juggle the responsibilities of being a devoted wife, daughter, and mother.  She was a good neighbor, church worker and friend to all.

Survivors are her children:  Clemmie Levert Collier of Camilla, Georgia, Raymond Collier of Atlanta, Georgia, Geralyn (Matthew) Haynes of Summerville, South Carolina, Zelda Collier of Camilla, Georgia, Earl (Faye) Collier of Camilla, Georgia; grandchildren, Yakemia Collier of Moultrie, Georgia, Antonious Marcell Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, Malcolm Collier of Moultrie, Georgia, Derrick Darrell Collier of Camilla, Georgia, Marshikka Collier of Camilla, Georgia, Vashikka Collier of Boston, Georgia, Raymond Collier, Jr. of Camilla, Georgia, Deaunna Collier of Fort Valley, Georgia, Jallen Collier of Thomasville, Georgia, Matthew M. Your Children

I Am Always With You

I am always with you
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.

I gave you my love, and you can only guess

How much you've given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must

Then let your grief be comforted by trust
That it is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on.

And if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".
