Mrs. Christine Jacobs Smith, daughter of the late Sylvester Jacob and Viola Clayton, was born January 1, 1931 in Mitchell County, Georgia. At an early age, she confessed CHRIST and joined the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully.

Mother Smith was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Lenward Tony Smith, Sr. for fifty-seven years, who preceded her in death.  She received her education from the Rockdale School.  She was employed with Keystone in Camilla, Georgia for eight years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lenward Tony Smith, Jr. and Eugene Smith, Sr.; a brother, Willie Frank Ellis, Sr.; a son-in-law, Mac Murray Mitchell, Sr.; two grandsons, Mac Murray Mitchell, Jr., Willie J. Stewart, Jr.; a great grandson, Frank Thomas, Jr.; a great-great grandson, Da'Ryan Daniels.

She departed this life on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her residence.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Earnestine (Eddie) Dewberry, Sylvia Mitchell, Bunice (Carl) Crutcher, Ruth (Sherman) Cato; one son, Timothy Smith of Camilla, Georgia; sixteen grandchildren, Wanda Stewart, Lenward Smith, III, Sylvia D. Hammonds (Kenny), Sabrina Harrison, Cynthia Harrison, Angela Harrison, Jermaine Harrison, Darryl Burley (Franyatter), Derrick Harris, Sr., Sharkaviah Hodge, Shermorrow Mitchell, Jessica Jones, Tessica Burley, Timothy Smith, Jr., Niki Iglus, Eugene (Jennifer) Smith, Jr.; thirty-nine great grandchildren; twenty-four great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bobby Jean Smith; one aunt, Rebecca Clayton; one nephew, Willie Frank Ellis, Jr. of Miami, Florida; one niece, Anita Pace of Miami, Florida; special friends, Mary Lou Reese, Bertha Bryant, Jennifer Almond, Brenda Frazier, Earman Anderson, Nevaeh Murray; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
