MEMORIAL
"Each Soul Must Take Its Rest"
Within our finite minds
We try to fathom God's way.
We wonder why someone we loved
So quickly went away.
We think of the good they did while here
And the happenings of the past,
All precious moments we held so dear,
And regret they could not last.
But some things that happen have to be,
For we are but mortal clay.
Our going is part of GOD'S decree,
And one day --- we too must go this way.
Some must go in Springtime
When the world is fresh and new.
In Summer; the long caravan moves.
For others must go too.
Some must go when falling leaves
Come swirling to the ground
With many so tinged with brown.
Some must go in Winter's Blast
When Piercing Winds Will Blow
All years --- all deeds forever past.
As we rest beneath mounds of snow.
But whatever the time, one thing is sure---
And perhaps this thought is best:
Though we lay these mortal bodies down,
We Shall Find GOD's Peace and Rest.
