Mrs. Cora Jeanette Ross Pinkins was the only child born to the late Herbert Fountain and Eula C. Spivey on February 10, 1943 in Camilla, Georgia. She was raised by her mother, aunts and uncles in a loving Christian home. Cora accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age becoming a member of Union Baptist Church. Cora was also a member of the deaconess board at Union Baptist church where she served faithfully until health failed.
As a fun-loving teenager, Cora enjoyed reading, dancing, and spending time with friends. Cora was educated at Camilla Consolidated Schools.
Cora's life changed dramatically when she became a mother. She went on to raise six children: Sharon, Reginald, and Michael Ross; and Eric, Carlyn and Anthony Pinkins. She was a loving mother and a strict disciplinarian who raised her kids in the values of the church and supported them in their endeavors. She blessed the lives of co-workers and students as a para-professional in the Mitchell County School System where she gave 20 years of dedicated service. In 1975, she married Willie James Pinkins who preceded her in death.
Cora was called to her heavenly home in the early hours of May 4, 2010.
