Damita Jo Wimberly was born on April 25, 1961 in Miami, Florida to the late Cindie Mae Hunter and the late Otis Jackson. Jr.  She departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia.

One daughter, LaTrisha Hunter and one brother, Alfonso Hunter, preceded her in death.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories a loving husband, Arthur Wimberly of Camilla, Georgia; two sons, Tremaine Hicks of Miami, Florida, Demetrius Hunter of Camilla, Georgia; two daughters, Shondale Spicer of Moultrie, Georgia, Natasha (Edward) Jones of Cairo, Georgia; two stepdaughters, LaSonya Wimberly and Audrey Hicks of Camilla, Georgia; four brothers, Otis Hunter of Miami, Florida, Henri (Barbara) Johnson of Miami, Florida, Wayne Jackson of Pelham, Georgia; three sisters, Helen Jackson and Marcia Walden of Miami, Florida, Beverly (Ronald) Gaitor of Camilla, Georgia; a special granddaughter, Elyshia; two sisters-in-law, Betty Dewberry of Albany, Georgia, Mary Hurst (Rickey Flemming) of Baconton, Georgia; six brothers-in-law, Daniel (Shirley) Hicks of Ewing, New Jersey, Jimmy (Monique) Wimberly, Pastor Curtis (Salitha) Wimberly, Andrew Lee Wimberly, Ellis Wimberly of Camilla, Georgia, Eugene Hines of Pelham, Georgia; twenty-three grandchildren; step grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
