IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darryl
Harris
April 15, 1955 – June 14, 2022
Darryl Harris was born April 15, 1955 in Mitchell County, Georgia to the late Chris C. Harris and Margaret Harris.
Darryl attended Mitchell County High School in Camilla, Georgia graduating with the class of 1973.
In 1967, Darryl confessed CHRIST and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia.
On December 20, 1986, Darryl was joined in holy matrimony to the former Peggy Crumbley. To this union one daughter, Kaysha, was born.
Darryl was employed with Hercules Bumpers in Pelham, Georgia. He later became employed with the Marine Corps Logistics Base retiring in 2005. Darryl was a member of the Robert Jester American Legion Post 518 where he was a Judge Advocate.
"Monk", as he was affectionately called, was an extremely lovable individual who captured the hearts of those around him. He had a gigantic smile and engaging personality. Darryl loved without conditions. He taught us about kindness and patience, and prompted us to be grateful for what we have. He was dearly loved and enjoyed being in the company of family and friends. His life was a shining example of courage and strength. He left a "chapter book" of stories and memories that will be remembered through the years.
In addition to his parents, Darryl was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Willie Harris and Mamie J. Harris.
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Willson's Hospice House, he transitioned gracefully from this earthly world.
