David Henry Russell was born on May 29, 1956 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Evelyn Russell and Henry Russell.

Boon, as he was affectionately called, attended Camilla Consolidated School in Camilla, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Russell.

He departed this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home in Camilla, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Merica Smith and Candace Smith of Camilla, Georgia; one granddaughter, Cassidy Smith of Camilla, Georgia; five sisters, Arletha Russell of Macon, Georgia, Gloria Russell and Laura Dawson of Camilla, Georgia, Annie (Jessie) Hammonds, Margaret R. Johns of Pelham, Georgia; five brothers, Johnny (Barbara) Childs, Bobby Russell, Eddie Russell, Arvin (Tina) Russell, Jeffery Russell of Camilla, Georgia; three special nieces, Quadaijha Jackson, Ivyunna Jackson of Camilla, Georgia, Tysmin Jones of Macon, Georgia.
