Obituary

Dora Franklin Bradley, was born August 26, 1927, in Camilla, Georgia, to the late Furey Franklin and Ella Mae Franklin.

At the tender age of ten, she confessed CHRIST and joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  While at Friendship, she was a member of the Inspirational Choir.  She faithfully served as a member of Friendship until her health failed.

In 1960, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Grover Cleveland Bradley.  To this union, one daughter, Mechile, was born.  As a wife and mother, Dora was a persistent, hardworking woman.  For several years she served as a caregiver to many.  She was an incredible cook and her skills were put to task by providing great meals to her family, church members, and friends.

Dora had a passion of doing many things such as going to church, fishing, shopping, watching soap operas, and sitting on the porch with great friends and relatives including Christine Mills, Ellis Mills, and Inez Hicks.  She enjoyed sewing by making quilts for family and friends.  Dora's great delight however was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Her daughter and grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Dora's friendliness and kindness to all people and her devotion for her family and friends are lasting tributes to the beauty of her heart and soul.  Her presence will deeply be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Arrie Lee Marcus, Ethel Lee Johnson, Ann Eva Robinson; four brothers, John Franklin, Furey Franklin, Calvin Franklin, and Robert Franklin.

On Monday, March 6, 2023, Dora's earthly journey ended at the home of her daughter.

Dora's memories will forever be cherished by her daughter, Mechile (Emanuel) Williams of Camilla, Georgia; two grandsons, Eltrondris Bradley, Dr. Emantavius Williams of Camilla, Georgia; two granddaughters, Yumonica Williams and Shantierra Hundley of Camilla, Georgia; a bonus granddaughter, Kennyau Wood; a bonus grandson, James Sporty Jackson; eight great grandchildren, Tremain Johnson, Ja'Quavious McNeil, Rihanna Williams, Braylen Hundley, Yahri Robinson, Krisylen Merritt, Austen Wilson, Tika Robinson; four great-great grandchildren, Antoine Johnson, Tiana Johnson, Jayceon Walton, Jordan Lyons; first cousins, Mary Joyner, Willie Mills, Sara Mlls, Ellis Mills of Camilla, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Vivian Brown; a fuzzy friend, Christian Dior; a special nephew, Calvin Franklin, Jr. of Camilla, Georgia, as she called her flower man; three godsons, Willie Riggins, Leon Marion of Camilla, Georgia, Jonathan McCluster of Preston, Georgia; a goddaughter, Susie Casion of Camilla, Georgia; a special caregiver, Sarah Perry of Pelham, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
