Doris Denison, daughter of the late Reverend George Wheeler and Flora Lee Wheeler, was born July 31, 1933 in Pelham, Georgia.

She confessed CHRIST and united with the Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church where she once served as an usher.

She was united in marriage to Lenard Denison, Jr., who preceded her in death.  To this union three children were born.

She was a beautician for many years serving people in the Mitchell County area.

Doris was a very kind and gentle-hearted person who embraced life's experiences with open arms.  She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her engaging personality captured the hearts of all who knew her.

She departed this life on Monday, November 13, 2023, at her residence.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lenard Denison, III; one sister, Annie Grace Gorham; two brothers, Joseph Lee Wheeler and George Wheeler, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Carolyn Davis, Shirley (Donald) Jackson of Camilla, Georgia; two sisters, Agnes Ross of Cairo, Georgia, Gloria Wheeler of Pelham, Georgia; one brother, James (Lonnie) Wheeler of Pelham, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Rosa Lee (Henry) Parker of Thomasville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Buffy Holton, Derrick Davis, Donald Jackson, Jr., Keith Jackson, Eric Denison, Shanderika Matthews, Lenard Denison, IV; twenty great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
