Dorothy Jean Ross, a cherished matriarch and a beloved member of the Camilla, Georgia community, passed away on March 1, 2026, at her daughter’s residence in Camilla. Born on February 26, 1949, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Earnest Bell, Sr. and Lillie Pearl Williams-Bell.

Dorothy dedicated over forty years of her life to her career at Tyson Foods, where she became known for her hard work and dedication. Beyond her professional life, she was also a devoted caretaker, embodying kindness and compassion in all her interactions. Her warm and welcoming personality made her a source of comfort and reassurance for those around her, always ensuring that others felt at ease in her presence.

An alumna of Camilla Consolidated High School, Dorothy cherished her educational experiences, carrying the values she gained throughout her life. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by her loved ones.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Valerie Mobley, and her son, Bernard Ross. She also leaves behind her beloved furry companion, Daisy, alongside her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness.
