IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward
Pinkins
January 4, 1940 – January 30, 2024
Edward Sam Pinkins, Jr. was the first of eleven children born to the Union of Edward Sam Pinkins and Lula Mae Pinkins on January 2, 1940, in Camilla, Mitchell County Georgia. Throughout his life, he was affectionately called "Newt" and "Nuddah" by his family and friends. He was reared in a Christian home attending an episcopal base faith church surrounded by his parents alongside maternal and paternal grandparents. Newt was educated at both Rockdale and Camilla Consolidated Schools.
In 1962, he married Palestine Harris. Two daughters were born, and they added a son. Nuddah worked several jobs over the years to support his family financially -Escambia Treating Company, Marvin Crosby Milling Company, heavy equipment operator among others. He enjoyed the outdoors: riding his bicycle, growing fruits and vegetables, raising rabbits, doing yard work and more.
On Tuesday night, January 30, 2024, shortly before midnight at Pruitt Healthcare in Albany, GA, Edward laid down all of his heavy burdens here on earth and went on home to be with the Lord.
