September 10, 1950 – April 14, 2022
Elizabeth Crumbley was born to the late Ms. Ida Lue Crumbley on September 10, 1950, in Mitchell County, Georgia.
She graduated from Camilla Consolidated School, Class of 1968. She furthered her education at Albany State College, Georgia State College and Valdosta State College with a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree and an Educational Special Degree in Leadership.
She was a life member of the Albany State University National Alumni Association.
At an early age she joined the Greater Union Baptist Church and served in different capacities of the church: Union Senior Choir, Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School, Easter programs, and several other areas of the church.
She also received numerous awards and enjoyed all sports. She was the "VOICE OF THE EAGLES" for many years and score keeper of the basketball team.
She was a Silver Star, a Life Member, and had over thirty-five years of service to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She served as president and very active member of the Lambda XI Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., in Thomasville, Georgia.
She worked in the Mitchell County School System for over forty years and served as a teacher and assistant principal.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Ida L. Crumbley.
She leaves to mourn: her sister, Mrs. Peggy (Darryl) Harris of Putney, Georgia; niece, Kaysha Harris of Putney, Georgia; brother and sister, Charlie W. Jones of Camilla, Georgia and Eva J. Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; a special godson, Shante' Dukes of Savannah, Georgia; and a host of cousins, relatives, friends, godchildren, and g-babies.
