Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Toom
bs Pittman was born January 1, 1927 to the late Joseph Toombs and Commie Toombs in Camilla, Georgia.
She confessed CHRIST at an early age and joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mitchell County, Georgia. She departed this life Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Palmyra Nursing Home.
"Liz", as she was affectionately called, attended Rockdale School in Camilla, Georgia. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie C. Pittman, who preceded her in death. Eight siblings also preceded her in death.
Liz was a member of Robert Jester, Jr. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 518, where she served faithfully for many years. She sang in the Oak Grove Senior Choir as an alto. She had a number of occupations.
Liz had a loving and giving spirit. Whatever she could do to help make someone's burden lighter -- whether it was bringing food, a joke or an encouraging word -- she did; whenever you left her, your spirit was always lifted.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Larry (Lois) Graddick, Herman Charles Pittman, Sr. of Camilla, Georgia, Elaine (Daryl) Burley of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one special goddaughter, Tonya Jamison of Camilla, Georgia; six grandchildren, Darren (Marqueta) Graddick, Herman Charles Pittman, Jr., of Camilla, Georgia, LaTisha Scott, Jasmine Pittman, Karlye Burley and Matthew Burley of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a step granddaughter, Brittany Burley of Pelham, Georgia; one step grandson, Antonio (Latoya) Mobley of Albany, Georgia; four great grandchildren; one brother, Jetson (Lucile) Toombs of Camilla, Georgia; two very special daughters-in-law, Annette Graddick and Rose M. Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and a number of special friends whom she loved.

A limb has fallen from the family tree
A voice is heard that says, "Grieve not for me"
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin
Until the day come's we're together again.
