Obituary

The funeral service of Elouise Isom-Taylor will be conducted Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at Robert Jester Mortuary.  Words of comfort will be by Reverend Charlie Williams.  Interment will follow in Oakview Cemetery.

Elouise entered her life on earth on December 21, 1916 in Camilla, Georgia.  She was the eldest child and only daughter of the late Ora Lee Isom and Will Isom.  Elouise departed her earthly life at Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia on March 25, 2014.

Elouise was educated in the Mitchell County School System.  Once she became of age, Elouise left Camilla and ventured to her Aunt Maggie's house in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she lived for several years, working as a domestic and nanny.

In her early 20's, Elouise traveled north and resided in Newark, New Jersey.  While there, she met and united with Sylvester Taylor, Jr.  From this union her only child:  a son, Wesley, was born.

Elouise was a factory employee during the war years since there was a demand for workers in the munitions field, but her true passion was raising children.  After the war, she departed from the factories and worked for several prominent New Jersey families as their live-in nanny.  She truly loved this type of work and did so for many years until her own son went to high school.  Her final employment stop was at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lyons, New Jersey in the Building Management Department.  She worked in the V.A. until March 1978, when she secured an early retirment to return to Camilla, Georgia to care for aging mother.  She continued to reside in Camilla for the remainder of her life.

She was predeceased by her only child, Wesley Taylor, and her brothers:  Will "Buddy" Isom, Jacob Isom, and twins, Morris "Fat" Isom and Morgan "Bo" Isom.

She leaves treasured memories to her grandchildren:  Rashaan Kareem Taylor of Kingsland, Georgia, Tyiesha S. Houston (John "Doug") of Jersey City, New Jersey, Ondrea J. Taylor, Ashley J. Taylor, both of North Brunswick, New Jersey, and Wesley "Coltrane" Taylor of the United States Navy, currently stationed in Virginia; and five great grandchildren:  Corey, Jasmine, Jonathan, Jason, and Jordan.  Elouise will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Robert Jester Mortuary.

Until We Meet Again

Each morning when we awake
we know that you are gone.
And no one knows the heartache
As we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
and many tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.

Our thoughts are always with you,
your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.

There will always be a heartache,
and often a silent tear,
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase,
And heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again.

We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

Our family chain is broken now,
And nothing will be the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
