Emma Ruth Franklin, daughter of the late John Burkes and Eva Mae Earkett, was born January 10, 1929.

She accepted the Lord and Savior at Summerhill Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin, Sr.; two sons, two sisters and one brother.

She departed this life on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at her residence in Pelham, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her memories nine children, Annie Ruth (Willie) Lofton of Albany, Georgia, Joan (William) Florence, Jerry Franklin, Arilla (Jimmy) Brinner, Katherine (Jerry) Thomas, Theresa (Lucious) Kelly of Pelham, Georgia, Betty (Horace) Usher, George Franklin, Jr., Willie Charles (Sherry) Franklin of Meigs, Georgia; twenty-eight grandchildren; seventy-three great grandchildren; a host of much loved nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
