IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ernest Calvin
Brown, Sr.
February 23, 1951 – October 17, 2022
As the world was preparing to begin a new year in 1951, the late Reverend George "Paul" and Henrietta Johnson Brown was welcoming a bright light, a son on February 23, whom they named, Ernest Calvin Brown.
"Texas" or "Brownboy", as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, was educated at Camilla Consolidated Schools but furthered his education at Turner Job Corps in Albany, Georgia where he received his diploma/certification as a Master Plumber/Electrician.
As a child, he accepted CHRIST as his personal savior and united with the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
His light was a bright and beautiful light. He enjoyed sharing special moments with his family and found great joy in his ability to help others with a flare of his own and a never "give up" attitude. He would light up any room. His mere presence added joy to the lives of those who loved him dearly.
On Monday, October 17, 2022, our world became a little dim. Our loving father, brother, uncle, answered the call we all must answer. While the world may never see the brilliance of his light, it will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, King J. Brown, Reverend Lynwood (Boat) Brown, and George (Buck) Brown; three sisters, Ruthie Mae Brown Harris, Julie Brown, and Betty Brown-Butler.
Those left to cherish his memories include a son, Ernest Calvin Brown, Jr. of Pelham, Georgia; three sisters, Thelma Brown-Riggins of Camilla, Georgia, Onita Brown-Waylon of Jamaica, New York, Hazel Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a very special niece (caregiver) that provided nurture and care all during his time of failing health, Mrs. Mattie Harris Jones; several nieces, nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
