Obituary

Evelyn Viola Alexander Roulhac, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Evelyn V. Roulhac was the 13th child born to Mose Taylor Alexander and Maria Andronia Mclver on November 6, 1920 in Mitchell County, Georgia. Evelyn graduated from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia with a degree in Vocational Home Economics. She married the love of her life, Mr. Edwin E. Roulhac in 1944. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Ruth and Charlotte.

Mrs. Roulhac was a dedicated educator who taught Vocational Home Economics at Mitchell County Training School in Pelham, Georgia and Math at numerous schools in the Flint Area School District. She was a faithful member and servant of Bethel United Methodist Church for several decades. Her hobbies included playing bridge, golfing, Word Search and most recent years playing Connect Four with her great-great nephew, Christian.

Mrs. Roulhac was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Roulhac; daughters, Ruth and Charlotte; siblings, Mamie, Helen, Irma, Moses, Taylor, Douglass, Alma, Ammie Mae, Fannie, Robert, Pinkie, George, and William.

Mrs. Roulhac also affectionately known as "Aunt Babe" or "Mom" is lovingly survived by a host of beloved family and cherished friends.

The family would like to express profound thanks and appreciation to the Bethel United Methodist Church family, Rev. Faith Green Timmons, Mrs. Gloria Lewis and family, Pelham Senior Center and those of you who sent cards, sentiments of love, and frequent calls upon her relocation to Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Children's Ministry and Mature Women's Ministry of Bethel United Methodist Church of Flint, Michigan and Bethel A.M.E. Church of Pelham, Georgia.

The remains have been shipped to Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 West Flint Park Boulevard, Flint, Michigan, for funeral and interment service.
