Obituary

Garrett Jermaine McIntyre, Jr. was born February 16, 1997 in Camilla, Georgia to Tammy Riggins McIntyre and Garrett McIntyre.  Garrett walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, at the age of 18.

Garrett was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully and served as an Usher.  He attended Mitchell County High School and also the Millennium Center.  He would have received his diploma in July 2015 and had plans on enlisting in the United States Armed Forces.

Garrett was an avid lover of sports and loved playing basketball.  His favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers.

Garrett will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.  He was the kind of young man which anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, or friend.

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernice Gibbs and Ola Jones; and an uncle, Roddrick Johnson.

Garrett is survived by his mother, Tammy Riggins McIntyre (Jason) of Camilla, Georgia; and father, Garrett McIntyre of Camilla, Georgia; three brothers, Darrian McIntyre, Kodrequize Brown, Keyvon Church of Camilla, Georgia; three sisters, ShaGarrian McIntyre, Gharyah Logan of Camilla, Georgia, Destiny McIntyre of Edison, Georgia; grandmothers, Elizabeth Riggins and Rosa Johnson of Camilla, Georgia; grandfathers, Willie Riggins and Roy McIntyre of Camilla, Georgia; special friend, Kendra Frazier of Camilla, Georgia; special aunt, Rebecca Clayton of Camilla, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Lasonya Johnson, Janet McIntyre, Valerie Range, Wanda McIntyre, Jonis Johnson, Trent Johnson, Terrance Johnson, Travis Johnson, Dontavius Riggins, Curtis Riggins, Tony Riggins, Corey Riggins, Willie Riggins, Jr.; one niece, Kaylee Davis; a host of other uncles, and aunts, relatives and friends.

A million times we'll miss you,
A million times we'll cry.
If love could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a special place,
No one could ever fill.

It broke our hearts to loose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
