Gary Alphonzo Ervin, Sr., son of Alma J. Florence and the late Marvin W. Ervin, Sr., was born October 18, 1970 in Pelham, Georgia.

Gary was a graduate of Pelham High School in Pelham, Georgia.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vontrelle Ervin; paternal grandparents, Jewell Ervin and Booker T. Ervin.

He departed this life on Wednesday, July 10, 2919 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memory a mother, Alma J. (Willie Hood) Florence of Putney, Georgia; children, LaShanisty Ervin, Terry Spooner, Gary Evin, Jr., Quedasha Ervin of Camilla, Georgia, Khadijia Ervin of Charlotte, North Carolina; a stepmother, Annette Ervin of Pelham, Georgia; seven grandchildren; his siblings, Sharnta (Willie) Atkins of Pelham, Georgia, Marvin (Katrice) Ervin of Camilla, Georgia, Vakesha Ervin of Valdosta, Georgia; his maternal grandparents, Ethel "Queen" Florence, Albert (Armett) Florence; a best friend and brother-in-law, Willie Atkins; special cousins, Michael Ervin and Andrea McClain; a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
