Obituary

Gayle Deneen Jenkins was born November 9, 1964 to Willie Buford Jenkins, Jr. and Martha J. Broadwater.  After her father's passing, Guy C. Craft and Martha Jenkins were married and continued to raise Gayle and her siblings to include Anthony, Scott, Guy, and Audrey.

She received her education in the public schools of Dougherty County and graduated from Monroe High School.  She attended Albany State University in Albany, Georgia and later joined the United States Army spending three years stationed in Germany and having many national travels and making many special memories and friends along the way.

Gayle had a spirit to serve others and help when she could.  She was beautiful with big bright eyes and a fun personality that captivated any room full of people.  She loved to entertain; lifting the spirits around her with jokes and laughter.  Gayle had a knack for crafts, but was a Cosmetologist who was meticulous in her work. She found solace in attending Mount Zion Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.  Gayle Deneen Jenkins had a connection with God that kept her grounded in her life despite circumstance.  She would say frequently when things seemed unsure that "It's all in God's divine timing, God's got me."  And so, it was and so it is now.  She took wonderful care of her "fur babies" Cookie and Biscuit.  Gayle never went too long without calling a family member just merely to ask "What's for dinner?"  She sometimes quite literally wanted to be a part of what ever mundane activity you had going on within the other side of the phone.  As many would say she called too much, when now we will reflect and relish and cherish in the moments that we could share in simple day to day activities with her.  Gayle raised one son, Sonny Manuel.  Sonny was Gayle's pride and joy from the moment she knew he would be entering this world.  She sang songs while she bathed him as a baby and he carried the same bright eyes as Gayle had.  She did her very best to ensure that he would be a well-rounded young man, on his way, to creating a successful life for himself.  When Gayle was able to take a vacation her number one destination would be the beach.  She loved the water, sand, and the peace and relaxation it carried when she was there.  As Gayle Deneen Jenkins now rest in Eternal peace, we; her dear loved ones will remember her memories.

Gayle watches from glory onto her son, Sonny Manual; her mother, Martha J. Craft; father, Guy C. Craft; two brothers, Anthony Jenkins, Scott Craft; one sister, Audrey Craft; three aunts, Marvene Bradley, Lure Jenkins, Bessie Hudson; one uncle, Marvin (Shurmain) Broadwater, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Vicky Craft; cousins; a host of other family and friends.
