Obituary
The funeral service of Geneva "Genny Mama" Smith, will be conducted Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 1:30 p.m., at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 130 Newton Street, Camilla. Reverend Eddie Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakview Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Active Pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
Mrs. Geneva Smith was born March 6, 1921 to the late Major Spence and Pearl Spence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim L. Smith and a son, John L (Mary Alice) Smith.
She departed this life on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in Albany, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted companion, Mr. Henry Johnson of Camilla, Georgia; two sons, William Smith (Bernice) of Camilla, Georgia, Robert L. Smith (Gloria) of Albany, Georgia; three daughters, Liza Pearl Kimbrough (Willie) of Baconton, Georgia, Rubie Lee Ross (Joe L.) and Juanita Carter (Melvin, Sr.) of Albany, Georgia; two sisters, Ola Mae Thomas of Camilla, Georgia, Elouise Betha of Nassau Bahamas; twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild.
She also leaves to cherish her memories, descendants of Mr. and Mrs. Hale Carlisles (Lola, Linda, Bill); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
