Obituary

George Hubert Rhodes, Jr., son of the late George Hubert Rhodes, Sr. and Lillie Threatts Rhodes, was born March 24, 1957 in Camilla, Georgia.

During the early years of his life, he attended the public school of Mitchell County and was active in numerous school activities and functions.

As a youth, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in Baconton, Georgia.  He later united with the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.

After graduating from high school, George entered the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.

George had many passions in his life and was always busy pursuing them.  He was an incredibly skilled sandblaster at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia.  He had a fondness of washing cars.  George also wore many other hats in his life.  Many lives were enriched by him and he had a wonderful way of putting people at ease.  If he could make you laugh or make your day a little better in any way, he would feel he had done something worthwhile.

He was united in marriage to the former Christine Davis.

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, George's journey came to a peaceful end at Willson's Hospice House in Albany, Georgia.

Those left to cherish his memories include a wife, Christine Davis Rhodes of Albany, Georgia; three sons, Andrew (Sylvia) Ross, Anthony Ross, Shannon (Princhel) McLloyd of Albany, Georgia; two step-daughters, Melondy M.
