The funeral service of Hazel "Sue" Moore, will be conducted Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 3370 Highway 97, Camilla. Reverend Sterlie Calhoun will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Hazel Pearl Moore was born in Mitchell County, Georgia, on December 11, 1933, to the late Mr. Harbert Stewart and Mrs. Geneva Stewart. She was the second of four children.
At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir for many years.
She graduated from Rockdale High School in 1950. She also attended Albany State College.
She was an employee with Darwood Manufacturing Company in Pelham for several years retiring in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harbert Stewart and Geneva Stewart; daughter, Carletha Marlene Moore; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Stewart and Carolyn Stewart.
She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Cecil (Vernee) Moore of Albany, Georgia; one daughter, Sandra Atkins of Camilla, Georgia; three brothers, Lindsay Stewart of Columbus, Ohio, Harbert (Edith) Stewart, Jr. and Jim C. Stewart of Camilla, Georgia; five grandchildren, Valerie (Terrence) Range, Cecilia Taylor, Felicia Moore, Jessica (Robert) Moore-Brown, Amber Atkins; two great grandchildren, Micah Taylor and Micayla Taylor; two aunts, Inez Scurry, Maxie Pate; one uncle, Clarence Johnson; a host of relatives, friends, and neighbors.
