Obituary

Helen Brown Johnson, a beloved seamstress and cherished member of her community, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Georgia. Born on September 8, 1947, in Ashburn, Georgia, Helen was the daughter of the late Johnny Brown and Novella Carr Brown.

Helen dedicated her professional life to her role as a seamstress with Mitchell Manufacturing Company in Camilla, Georgia, where her skills and passion for her craft were evident to all who had the pleasure of working with her. Her education began in grade school in Mitchell County, laying the foundation for a life rich in friendships and community.

Helen will be remembered for her caring and loving spirit. A devoted wife to the late L. B. Johnson, her capacity for love extended well beyond the boundaries of her immediate family. She was known for her humor, friendliness, and her spiritual-mindedness, often seen attending church services in the company of her friends and loved ones. Helen delighted in baking sweets, cultivating gardens filled with vibrant flowers, and sharing her culinary creations with family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Johnny Brown and Novella Carr Brown; her husband, L. B. Johnson; along with her two sisters, Mary Alice Childs and Roberta Ford. Helen leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who will carry her memory forward with fond recollections of her warmth and devotion.

As her family and friends reflect on a life well-lived, they are reminded of Helen's laughter, her nurturing hands, and her unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
