Henry Bruce Hampton, son of the late Merritt Hampton and Mary Jean Hampton, was born January 31, 1963 in Mitchell County, Georgia.
Bruce, as he was affectionately called, married the love of his life, Shiwanni McIntire, on December 11, 1995. This union was blessed with one son, Jasmond Demond Hampton.
Bruce accepted CHRIST at an early age and united with the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church and was ordained a Deacon on January 14, 2007.
He was an active softball coach for the Camilla Housing Authority in the early 1980's. He was an active member of the NAACP.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ava Jean Hampton.
He departed this life on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Mitchell County Hospital.
Those left to cherish his memories include a devoted wife of twenty-one years, Shiwanni Hampton of Camilla, Georgia; a son, Jasmond Demond Hampton of Camilla, Georgia; one sister, Donna Leah Hampton of Camilla, Georgia; three brothers, Merritt (Cassandra) Hampton, Jr., Larry (Joyce) Hampton of Camilla, Georgia, Charlie (Kimberly) Hampton of Albany, Georgia; three children he helped raise, Anthony Tyrone McIntyre, Kamyia McIntyre, and Draya Wright; three uncles, Sebron (Margaret) Session of Jacksonville, Florida, Richard Hampton, Jr. and Marvin Hampton of Pelham, Georgia; seven aunts, Ollie Thomas of Cairo, Georgia, Louise Session of Camilla, Georgia, Henrietta Hampton, Irene Moore, Katie Mae Cooper, Ophelia Williams of Pelham, Georgia, Carrie Lue Hampton of Miami, Florida; a father-in-law, Robert L. McIntyre; three sisters-in-law, Joe Ellen Evans, Mary Smith, Shirley (Frank) Williams of Camilla, Georgia, Dianne (Dupree) Williams of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Lynwood McIntyre, Anthony (Charka) McIntyre of Camilla, Georgia; a special nephew, Jason Peoples of Camilla, Georgia; a very dear friend, Craig Burley of Camilla, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews.
