Hydarius Dakota Florence, fondly known as Deri, was born on June 29, 1994, in Camilla, Georgia, and departed this life on July 14, 2026. During his thirty-two years, Hydarius touched the lives of all who knew him with his sweetness, warmth, and an ever-present love for family, good food, and joyful moments.

Hydarius was the beloved child of Stafford (Sharonda) Florence (father) and Gwendlyon Florence (mother). He is also survived by his close-knit family: his brothers, Donterrius J. Walker, Zachery Lamario Walker, Elliott Carter; his sister, Yakarrii Makii Florence; his paternal grandfather, Arthur Talley. Hydarius’s capacity to love and bring joy extended deeply into his family, who will remember his gentle spirit and the comfort he brought to their lives.

Hydarius was a proud graduate of Pelham High School in Pelham, Georgia, class of 2012. Driven by a passion for culinary arts, he pursued and completed culinary school, turning a love of cooking into a skill that brought delight to family gatherings and everyday life alike. Hydarius’s talent in the kitchen was matched only by his eagerness to share meals and laughter with the people he cared for most.

His call to service led Hydarius to join the United States Navy, a testament to his character and his willingness to serve a cause greater than himself. His military service reflected his sense of duty, responsibility, and pride in his country, leaving an enduring example for those who follow.

Hydarius’s talent in the kitchen was matched only by his eagerness to share meals and laughter with the people he cared for most.

Those who knew Hydarius will remember his infectious love for music and the way he relished creating a good time wherever he went. Whether at the stove preparing a favorite dish or simply spending an evening with loved ones, his laughter and joy were a constant presence. Hydarius’s sweetness, devotion to family, and capacity to bring people together in celebration or support will be his lasting legacy.
