Peakes

Jacob Carver Peakes was born in the Flint Community of Georgia on July 13, 1943 to the late Alexander Peakes and Annie Mae Johnson Carwell Peakes. He died on March 26, 2024 at his home under hospice care.
Jacob was raised in New York and New Jersey.
He faithfully attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized at the young age of 11 in 1956. He was an elder and a regular pioneer in the Pelham, Georgia congregation. He was mostly known as Brother Peakes and by his co-workers as Professor.
His secular education was not known by most, but he graduated from East New York's Vocational Technical High School in 1962. He earned his Doctor of Psychology (PhD) in 1970, followed by attending Jersey City State College in 1976. In 1973, he pursued further secular education at Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey, earning an Associate in Arts degree. Later in 1983, he attended the Real Estate School of Central New Jersey. Although well-taught, he was greatly known for his humble and mild temper. He retired at Equity Group Division in Camilla, Georgia, in 2008 as a DSI Supervisor (night shift).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Christopher Peakes; four brothers, David Peakes, Luther Peakes, Jimmy Peakes, Will Roger Peakes, Sr.
Jacob is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Katherine Brown Peakes of Camilla, Georgia; daughter, Eisha Fox of Cameron, North Carolina. He is also survived by his siblings, Alexander (the late Jeraldine) Peakes of Florida, Arlene Rivers of Florida, Shirley (James) Jackson of Texas; grandchildren, Dajah Fox, Kweli Fox, Kayla Fox; great granddaughter, Geniya Fox; sisters-in-law, Janet Madeiras, Teresa Brown, Mary Hodge of Camilla, Georgia, Sarah (Frank) Ross of Albany, Georgia, Rosa Peakes of Walterboro, South Carolina; brothers, Jeffery Brown of Pearl City, Hawaii, James Brown, Jr. of Camilla, Georgia. He will be missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
