Obituary
The funeral service of James Titus Smiley, will be conducted Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Robert Jester Mortuary. Bishop Victor Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oakview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
James Smiley was the son of the late Willie Mae and Charlie Smiley. He was born October 24, 1923 in Mitchell County, Camilla, Georgia. He attended public schools in Camilla, Georgia and joined Beulah Baptist Church at an early age. Mr. James Smiley married Ms. Jeralene Smiley who preceded him in death; of this union three children were born.
He departed this life Friday August 20, 2010 at 3:00 a.m. at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Deanna Marcus, Sandra (Victor) Powell, and Rose Smiley all of Albany, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jerold Marcus, Jeremy Marcus, Jason Marcus, Gabriel Powell, Victoria Powell and Garrett Smiley;
one sister, Mary Smiley of Camilla, Georgia, and one brother, David Smiley of Steilacoom, Washington; one sister-in-law, Arilla Smiley of Camilla, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
