IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerome
Casion
March 15, 1970 – February 18, 2025
Jerome Casion was born on March 15, 1970. He was the second child born to John L. Casion, Jr. and Louvenia Casion of Camilla, Georgia.
Jerome (Jay) grew up in the Greenough community in Mitchell County surrounded by a large and loving extended family. As a young man, he attended Mitchell County Schools in Camilla, Georgia. Growing up, he attended Sunday School and church at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized under the pastorage of the late Reverend R. L. Jones.
Jerome worked at a local dairy for a number of years. He also worked in landscaping and was a much sought after handyman in the community. When he wasn't working, he could be found fishing or tinkering on small engines in a workshop he built behind his house. If you knew Jay, you knew that he enjoyed his solitude. He often walked in the surrounding fields and woods. His circle of friends was small by choice. He had a great sense of humor and would leave one laughing long after a conversation with him. Most importantly, he was a loving caregiver to his mother, a loving brother, uncle and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Casion, Jr.; his grandfathers, Cleophus (CC) Calhoun, Sr. and John L. Casion, Sr.; and his great niece, Hayden Smith. he also marked the loss of other members of his village to include uncles, aunts and cousins.
Jay's earthly walk ended on Tuesday evening, February 18, 2025. He leaves to mourn and cherish memories of life with him: his devoted mother, Louvenia Casion; a loving brother, Tyrome (Pam) Casion and his adored sister, Alice (Larry) Davis. He is survived by caring aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who he loved like his own, cousins and other relatives and friends.
