Jerrie Jackson was born February 23, 1935 to the late L.C. Williams and the late Rutha Mae Williams in Camilla, Georgia.
She attended Rockdale High School in Camilla, Georgia. She continued her education receiving her Bachelor of Science degree at Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Georgia and her Master degree at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, Florida and became an educator in the Mitchell County School System. She retired in 1995 after thirty-six years of service. After retirement, she became a member of the Mitchell-Baker Retired Educators Association.
Jerrie confessed to Christ at an early age and joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk for many years until her health failed.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Jay Jackson. They were married for fifty-two years.
Jerrie departed this life on January 31, 2021 at the Mitchell County Convalescent Center, Camilla, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay Jackson; her sister, Auro Williams; her brothers, Lawrence Williams, Ulysses Williams, Willie Albert Williams, and Zack Williams.
Jerrie leaves to cherish her memories four devoted sisters, Maude Hodges, Martha Bowman, Shellie (Robert, Sr.) Price, Carrie Williams; one brother, Roger (Helen) Williams; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Williams, Alice Thomas; one brother-in-law, Robert McIntyre, Jr. and a host of special nieces, special nephews, relatives, and friends.
