Mr. Jerry Lewis Grissom was born October 20,1958 to the late Mr. Duke Grissom, Jr. and Mrs. Emma L. Silas Grissom in Camilla, Georgia.
Jerry attended Mitchell County High School graduating in the Class of 1977. He joined Bethel Baptist Church at a young age. Upon leaving high school, he served in the United States Army for two years.
Jerry answered The Master's Call and departed this life December 7, 2022. He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a very caring person. He was an avid sports fan; his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to football, he enjoyed basketball; his favorite team being the Boston Celtics. Jerry always met others with a smile on his face with something lighthearted to say. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Duke Grissom, Jr. a loving, dedicated mother, Mrs. Emma Lee Silas Grissom, and a brother, Mr. Duke (Bro) Grissom III.
Those left to cherish his fondest memories are his children, Mrs. Kendra K. Johnson (Robert) of Thomasville, Georgia and MSgt (retired) Jerrondis J. Wilson (Joshalin) of Kathleen, Georgia, Mr. Thierry Grissom (Alyssa) of St. Charles, Missouri, Mr. Justin Grissom (Samantha) of Cabot, Arkansas, and Ms. Jasmine Grissom of Armarillo,Texas; five loving sisters: Carrie Silas Thompson (Morris) of Youngstown, Ohio, Dorothy Grissom Callaway of Camilla, Georgia, Elizabeth Grissom Williams (Ernest), Emma Jean Grissom Laster (Kenneth) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tamaira Cunningham of Leesburg, Georgia; four grandchildren, DaShaun Lewis, Janya Wilson, Joshua Wilson and Justin Grissom Jr; a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great friends.
